Product Description
BTK Biological Insecticide is a safe, easy-to-use and effective control for caterpillars including tent caterpillars, gypsy moths, spring and fall cankerworm, Spruce budworm, Jack Pine Budworm and other insects which infect shade trees, ornamentals and evergreens.
It is a highly concentrated formula in a 3.8 fl. oz. (100 mL) bottle that when mixed with water makes about 7.5 gallons (30 litres) of spray solution. One bottle of the BTK concentrate will treat 3229 sq feet (300 sq meters) or two to three large shade trees. Treatments should be repeated every 7 to 10 days, if required.
Simply mix BTK Biological Insecticide with water and spray into the foliage of an infected tree.
BTK is found naturally in soil and degrades within a week as the sun hits it. BTK does not harm people, animals, birds or fish.
Caterpillars, or worms, are the larvae of beetles, butterflies, moths and flies. During their lifecycle they undergo a complete change or metamorphosis. During this process they change from a worm or caterpillar to an adult that has wings and legs. They cause the most damage on trees and shrubs during their larvae or caterpillar stage. Some species of caterpillars, especially the gypsy moth caterpillar can cause serious damage to trees. Large infestations can completely defoliate large mature trees.
